Lyrics
Sitting here in my room, trying not to cry
But I do anyway, and you may know why
People are scared, asking everyone to pray
That’s a good thing, so I’ll do as they say
Many people are dying, like we have never seen
Because of a vicious virus called Covid-19
We were warned in December, it was already here
But some idiot said, “we got nothing to fear”
Those words were believed, by a whole lotta folks
Who went around saying, it’s all “a Democratic hoax”
Though the truth was well known, they kept on lying
To them, it mattered none, many people were dying
But they couldn’t keep lying, it all became so real
Too many got sick, we weren’t prepared to heal
Hospitals were running out of beds and supplies
So they started to choose, who lives and who dies
Pray for New York, pray for your hometown
Look at us all, we are home on locked down
We’re in this together, be calm till it passes
Soon, we’ll see the world, through rose colored glasses
Schools are not open, teachers can’t teach
Churches are closed, preachers can’t preach
I need to know, can someone here explain
How can we begin, to somehow ease the pain
I can see, it’s going to be such a difficult task
Stay home people, and when out, please wear a mask
We need ventilators, Doctors say they’re a must
Still, no matter what happens, in God we trust
Pray for New York, pray for your hometown
Look at us all, we are home on locked down
We’re in this together, be calm till it passes
Soon, we’ll see the world, through rose colored glasses
Through rose colored glasses…
Thank you, to those, who are in the front lines
Making sure, you and me, are doing just fine
Take a look around people, we’re all in the same boat
I may not be Bob Dylan, but still I like what I wrote
Pray for New York, pray for your hometown
Look at us all, we are home on locked down
We’re in this together, be calm till it passes
Soon, we’ll see the world
Pray for New York, pray for your hometown
Look at us all, we are home on locked down
We’re in this together, be calm till it passes
Soon, we’ll see the world
Soon, we’ll see the world
Thru rose colored glasses
Thru rose colored glasses
